These guys are fantastic. I highly recommend them. My car died on my birthday, the day before I had to drive back to the Bay. All mechanics were booked for two weeks and I was responsible to get 4 people home the next day for work. I didn't know what to do, but they stepped up with true heart and squeezed me in doing a great job. I was off to the Bay by noon the next day. I'm forever grateful.

These guys are the real deal. New, old foreign or domestic. They have your back. I am a long time local. Highly recommended!!!

​Had a problem with my Yukon on vacation. This shop was able to get me in and fix it quickly (especially for Tahoe) and at a good price. If you you need repairs on vacation in Tahoe give them a call.

As an owner of many beater cars in my lifetime, I have used my share of mechanics. I haven't found one who is as honest and fair as Justin and his shop. I know he will do what my car needs and get me back on the road. I trust him totally to do great service and always bring my cars in to him when they need service. I have had experiences with a few other local shops in the past, and Tahoe City Auto is clearly the best shop in Tahoe. Take you care somewhere else at your own risk.

Our charging system indicator light turned on an hour outside of our arrival in Tahoe for vacation. I called Tahoe City Auto Repair and then said they could help. We went straight to the shop. They diagnosed the issue, replaced the alternator, and had us on our way within 2 hours. What could've been a terrible start to our vacation was actually a very pleasant experience. Great customer service, quick turn around, and low prices. Can't beat that! Thank you Tahoe City auto repair!!!

The only shop that was willing to replace my 17' VW  Golf R cracked oil pan after meeting a tiny rock. Considering it was memorial weekend they were not opened on Monday(not a problem) but I brought it in on Tuesday and they got me going home same day! Highly recommend if you are visiting Lake Tahoe and encounter vehicle issues.

I live in SF but spend an enormous amount of time in Tahoe...and a couple of days ago, my car wouldn't start. Having no idea where to take my car, I went through two mechanics on my roadside assistants recommendations before finding this hidden, tucked away repair shop.  The first mechanic decided to permanently close after this last big storm, the second mechanic was at capacity, so a quick google search as the tow truck driver drove me around town brought me to Tahoe City Auto Repair. They were great. They were full too, but they dug out a spot in the snow for my car since I arrived at closing, then they did such a great job fixing my car promptly the next day, keeping me posted on the updates,  When the bill came it was very fair and reasonable. Coming from the city, where it seems to be more prevalent, I expected to be taken advantage of...but I wasn't. Highly recommend this place if you want some prompt, attentive, high quality and fairly priced service!

Could not find anyone in Tahoe area to throw on four snow tires. Everybody was already booked up and busy. Justin at Tahoe City Auto Repair made it happen and squeezed me in just at closing time with snow storm coming in. Friendly and great with every customer that came in as I waited. Super impressed

Jeff is great!  They are open on Saturday which is HUGE especially when no one else is.
Bottom line, I was going down Mt. Rose and my brakes made a noise I've never heard. (It wasn't good) I called him and brought the car in, he took a look and told me Everything was ok, they just overheated. He even told me how to elongate the life of what I have left on the pads.  He could have easily sold me something I didn't necessarily need right now but didn't.  That is always appreciated.

Drove into town after a long drive and found an oil leak. Guys were super friendly, professional and quick to assist. Honest group of people. Highly recommend.
